My twin brother started playing so I decided to join in.

What schools did you attend? and what were your achievements and highlights?

Northcote College, College of the Siskyous and Alderson-Broaddus College

You are a role model for young women, what advice do you have for them getting into basketball?

Don’t let people tell you that your too short!!!! Work hard and prove them wrong. Also play for the love of the game and enjoy it.

What has been the ultimate highlight so far in your career?

Playing for my country

Who has been your biggest influence in basketball and why?

There have been multiple people that have helped me in my career. I would have to say Aik Ho has been my coach since high school. He helped me get to the US to play. The other person is Tom Powers my coach at Siskiyous. They both know how to get the best out of players.

Where do you see women’s basketball in the next five years?

It is great to see the growth of the women’s game. There are some very talented players coming through so would love to see them competing on the world stage and putting NZ on the map.

Who is the ultimate women’s basketball player in New Zealand?

I would have to say Leanne Walker. I loved watching and playing against her growing up. Her basketball IQ is phenomenal, she would always know exactly when to make the pass or shoot the ball. She is doing a great job now she has switched over to coaching.

Who is the ultimate men’s basketball player in New Zealand?

Mika Vukona, his energy and work ethic is unparalleled. The fact he is an undersized big and can still compete is something to admire

You played for the Tall Ferns, please tell me about this experience?

I just loved being able to against different styles. I love the fact that even though we play the same game there are many different ways to play it.

In terms of your playing career, what would be the pinnacle for you?

Having my education paid for while playing the game I love.

Whats the best pair of basketball shoes you have owned?

Curry 7

Who has been the hardest person to guard in your career and why?

Again I would have to say Leanne Walker. She is just such a smart player, if you cheated on defense she would punish you for it.

Have you ever had one of those games where you have felt unstoppable and in that mind set ‘you can’t guard me?

When I was at College of the Siskiyous in California there were many times I had games like this. One in particular I got a triple double and it felt like nothing could go wrong.

You are playing in the up and coming 18 in 18 tournament in Auckland, how are you preparing yourself for this?

I just had a baby so for me the biggest thing is just getting back in to game shape. My dog Bella is the best running partner because she never wants to stop.

What does it mean to you to be apart of the Auckland Dream?

They are family. I’m so glad to be apart of a team who look after each other. My kids get so excited  to come to training.
